# Corning Lens

## Support Steel System 

Capital Steel Works was approached by Corning glass to design and fabricate mounting steelwork for what is referred to as the Corning glass lens. The was originally commissioned for the Mount Palmer Observatory in California. The lens measures 200 Inches in diameter and weighs in excess of 20 Tons.

The lens, complete with the custom made mounting steelwork can be found at Corning glasses museum in Corning NY.
